About the Team
Fitch's European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions.
* The successful candidate will join the European Structured Finance team at Associate Director level.
* The team analyzes transactions backed by mortgage loans, consumer loans, and/or corporate loans, including leveraged loan CLOs.
* The team analyzes transactions in line with Fitch's rating criteria and provides high‑quality credit opinions to investors and other market participants.
What You'll Do
* Implement default, recovery, and cash flow modelling.
* Review transaction legal documents.
* On‑site review of underwriting and servicing of transaction originators and CLO managers.
* Prepare rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committees.
* Communicate rating rationale to investors and other market participants through presale reports, presentations, and meetings.
* Communicate with transaction arrangers and originators to understand asset characteristics and structural features of the transactions.
* Assist in the development of criteria and supporting research.
You May Be a Good Fit If
* This is a demanding and exciting role; we are looking for highly motivated candidates.
* The successful candidate should have some prior experience in finance.
* Knowledge of securitisation structures, in particular CLOs, would be beneficial.
* Candidates should be highly numerate and analytical, with advanced Excel skills.
* The role involves analysis of legal transaction documents; while no legal background is required, candidates should be able to review and analyse legal contracts from a credit risk perspective.
What Would Make You Stand Out
* A central element of the position is communicating your analysis, both internally and externally. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
* Other European languages are desirable.
