Intertek is looking for a Subject Matter Expert in 3 D Laser Scanning & Digital Twin Services for establishing, leading, and grow 3 D laser scanning and reality capture services, including technical delivery, service definition, and commercial enablement across European and UK markets.
\n
The selected profile will be responsible for building and operationalizing end-to-end reality capture services.
\n
This role combines deep hands‑on technical expertise with commercial acumen and market knowledge.
\n
The SME defines procedures, selects and deploys equipment and software, integrates scanning outputs into digital twin ecosystems, and actively supports business development through client engagement and industry networks.

Responsibilities
\n
Service Setup & Technical LeadershipDesign, implement, and continuously improve 3 D laser scanning and reality capture service offerings
\n
Define standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, workflows, and best practices
\n
Select, test, and deploy appropriate hardware (terrestrial, mobile, UAV‑based scanners) and supporting equipment
\n
Evaluate, implement, and optimize processing and modeling software for point clouds, mesh generation, and BIM integration
\n
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, cybersecurity, and compliance with industry and client standardsDigital Twin & System IntegrationIntegrate laser scanning outputs with BIM, asset management, GIS, and digital twin platforms
\n
Collaborate with IT, engineering, and digital teams to ensure interoperability and scalable architectures
\n
Support development of use cases such as asset verification, brownfield engineering, maintenance planning, and lifecycle managementMarket & Client DevelopmentLeverage strong knowledge of European and UK markets to identify priority sectors and clients
\n
Utilize existing professional network to open opportunities and support sales of laser scanning services
\n
Participate directly in client meetings, technical presentations, proposals, and solution design
\n
Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating business needs into practical technical solutionsCommercial & Strategic supportSupport pricing strategies, cost models, and service differentiation
\n
Contribute to go‑to‑market strategies and service positioning
\n
Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in reality capture and digital twinsKnowledge Sharing & Strategic SupportTrain and mentor internal teams in laser scanning technologies, workflows, and standards
\n
Contribute to internal knowledge bases, technical guidelines, and innovation initiatives
\n
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forumsRequirementsMinimum 8-10 years of hands‑on experience in 3 D laser scanning, reality capture, or related geomatics/engineering fields
\n
Proven experience setting up and scaling laser scanning services, including procedures, equipment, and software
\n
Strong understanding of BIM, digital twin platforms, and data integration workflows
\n
Demonstrated experience working with clients in European and UK markets
\n
Established network of potential clients, partners, or industry contacts relevant to laser scanning services
\n
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in surveying, geomatics, engineering, architecture, or related disciplineSkillsDeep technical expertise combined with practical, hands‑on delivery capability
\n
Strong commercial awareness and ability to support sales and client development
\n
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both technical and non‑technical
\n
Ability to work across disciplines and influence stakeholders at all levels
