Verification and Validation Engineer

Your role As a Verification and Validation Engineer you will perform development and execution of the verification and validation tests, type tests, functional routine tests and robustness tests to the designed products. At system level is the Verification and Validation Engineer responsible for preparing, developing, executing and documenting hardware and software integration and system testing within a project or as part of product maintenance tasks.
Key responsibilities Testing IXL/ETCS/System functionalities. Activities mainly executed in Laboratory (90%) and some tesk on the field (10%) Defining plan of tests, identifying tests to be executed in laboratory and on-site ; Configuring test tools and IXL/ETCS/System (Laboratories and on-site) for the testing activities; SW testing session/process, in cooperation with the other testing engineers from laboratory testing to on-site testing; Applying the standard V&V methods & tools, configuration & change management processes in accordance to Alstom standards; Running and executing the tests for the V&V of the SW and data, delivering the test reports required for the IXL/ETCS/System acceptance phase; Supporting Customer acceptance phase (configuration customer laboratory, customer tests support, on-site activities)
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Experience in testing electronic equipment, testing in a lab environment and working with test equipment, applicable tools and test methods. Knowledge and experience working with electric installations, drawings, and circuit diagrams. Experience working with railway signalling systems, preferably on or around railway tracks. Knowledge or experience working with ERTMS, SCMT will be considered a plus. Knowledge of Linux O.S English and Italian at a fluent level are mandatory for this role, any other language will be considered a plus.
