We are seeking to appoint a passionate, dedicated and motivated Science and Physics Teacher who will join our growing Middle and High School Team, starting from September 2026.The profile we are looking for will have excellent subject knowledge and will be able to combine academic knowledge and achievement with a passion for the subject to boost learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will be mother tongue or equivalent in English, have proven experience in teaching Middle and High School and be familiar with experiential, project-based learning and IB programs (inquiry would be a plus).ResponsibilitiesProvide scientific content and skills in English and contribute to extra-curricular and other activities.Promote the school's mission and philosophy, ensuring students work towards becoming global citizens.Ensure planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting are of high quality and meet diverse learning and social needs.Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel comfortable expressing their views, opinions and needs.Manage classroom behavior effectively.Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach and assess effectively, and take responsibility for student progress.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the school.Take personal responsibility for professional development and contribute to curriculum planning and development.Be flexible and adapt to the needs of the school, contributing to its development and growth.Ensure school policies are understood and followed consistently.Supervise students during the school day outside of class time.Education & TrainingMaster's Degree in Physics or Science (or related field).Qualified Teacher Status or international teaching qualification.Qualified to teach children of Secondary school age.Proven success in teaching and assessing mathematics and physics in various curricula.Knowledge of the IB curriculum would be a plus.Mother tongue English or C2 level; extensive knowledge of Italian would be considered a plus.ExperiencePrior experience in an international school environment.Positive attitude that inspires staff and students.Ability to lead by example and inspire colleagues to follow.Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and mediation skills.Care for understanding and supporting the experiences of all students in the secondary school.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise demands.Strong classroom management skills and ability to handle emotional situations calmly and effectively.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Good team builder with leadership skills to oversee progress and guide a team toward objectives.Commitment to continuous professional development and safeguarding and equality; maintaining confidentiality.About the SchoolThe Bilingual European School (BES) is the first and foremost bilingual school in Milan, with a curriculum spanning from pre-school to high school.
