PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Assistant Technical Manager provides senior-level technical expertise to support the successful delivery of civil, geotechnical, and hydraulic engineering projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality and integrity of technical solutions, supporting commercial initiatives, and enhancing client confidence in Maccaferri’s offerings. The position shall contribute significantly to technical excellence and support cross-functional collaboration
CORE RESPONSIBILITY
Technical Expertise & Engineering Solutions
* Deliver advanced technical support for project feasibility studies, conceptual design, and detailed engineering solutions.
* Prepare, review, and refine engineering designs, drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and reports.
* Ensure technical outputs are aligned with project objectives, codes, and Maccaferri’s internal standards.
Project Technical Support
* Participate in all phases of project delivery—from pre-sales support to post-sales technical assistance and site-related issues.
* Act as the key technical contact for clients, consultants, and contractors on assigned projects.
* Support the Technical Manager in resolving complex engineering challenges.
Commercial & Business Support
* Collaborate with the Sales and Business Development teams to align technical proposals with customer needs and strategic objectives.
* Contribute to the preparation of technical submissions, tenders, and value-engineered solutions to enhance competitiveness.
* Engage in client presentations and technical discussions to support project acquisition.
Technical Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
* Support knowledge-building efforts through participation in technical seminars, webinars, and industry outreach events.
* Foster positive engagement with academic institutions and government bodies to promote Maccaferri’s technical leadership.
* Assist in preparing technical content for marketing and educational materials (e.g. case studies, brochures).
Data Management & Reporting
* Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of project data, CRM records, and technical documentation.
* Generate technical reports, analysis, and feedback to support project reviews and internal reporting needs.
REQUIREMENT
* Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering.
* At least 6 years working experience, preferably in a consulting or manufacturing environment.
* Possess good knowledge in civil and geotechnical applications.
* Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software.
* Good analytical skills.
