About this Role
The Sustainability and Environmental Impact Specialist at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company plays a pivotal role in measuring and reducing the company's environmental footprint. This 1-year temporary position is part of the Sustainability Department, emphasizing collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and support environmental mitigation strategies. The role involves assessing and monitoring environmental compliance, preparing technical reports, and contributing to sustainability goals. The specialist will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, utilizing advanced GIS tools to interpret environmental data effectively.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the upkeep of cartographic databases (GIS).
* Analyze and interpret environmental data using advanced cartographic and GIS tools.
* Prepare maps, datasets, and technical reports for stakeholders.
* Collaborate on data management and sustainability reporting.
* Support environmental compliance, permitting processes, and regulatory monitoring.
* Contribute to internal sustainability initiatives and decarbonization strategies.
Requirements
* University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Natural Science, Biology, or other relevant disciplines.
* Knowledge and hands-on experience with cartographic and GIS software like QGIS or ArcMap.
* Experience in sustainability reporting or environmental impact assessments (EIA), with a minimum of 2-3 years.
* Analytical mindset and strong data interpretation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced international environment.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
