Your opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Customs & Duty Expert to join our Global Logistics team in Italy. In this operational role, you will be directly responsible for managing customs procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the efficiency of our global supply chain activities.
Your Mission
The role, reporting directly to the Global Function Manager, will be responsible for:
1. Handling customs procedures for import and export, ensuring alignment with EU regulations.
2. Overseeing and improving customs clearance and duty payment processes to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
3. Working closely with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal departments to resolve daily operational issues.
4. Maintaining and updating internal customs procedures and delivering practical training to relevant teams.
5. Regularly reviewing logistics flows and customs operations to identify and report actionable opportunities for duty savings and cost reduction, providing detailed analysis to the Global Function.
6. Providing operational support to domestic and international teams on customs-related matters and authorizations, while maintaining effective communication with customs authorities.
7. Coordinating with customs consultants, brokers, and commercial partners at both national and international levels.
8. Executing customs processes to meet regulatory requirements and operational needs.
9. Managing and applying knowledge of key international trade topics such as duties, tariff barriers, goods classification, customs valuation, origin rules (preferential and non-preferential), and AEO certification.
10. Handling documentation and compliance related to letters of credit and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., UCP 600).
Your Profile
Education:
Degree in Economics, Law or similar
Computer Skills:
Proficient in: MS Office, Power Bi, SAP
Language requirements:
11. Fluent English, written and spoken
12. French is a plus
Required experience and skills:
13. Minimum 3 years’ experience in customs and duty management, preferably in international environments
14. In-depth knowledge of Italian and EU customs regulations: Experience in the use of customs systems and in-depth knowledge of the regulatory standards governing letters of credit, such as the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600) and other relevant international guidelines.
15. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
