You will deliver data acquisition, transformation, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading into data lakes for analytics and machine learning models. The Azure Data Engineer knows the challenges of a cloud-native environment, can think outside the box to find innovative yet simple solutions, and shares these solutions with the team. We seek an engineer who can bridge Data Science and Data Engineering, understanding both fields. If you're a Data Scientist seeking more data preparation experience, or a Data Engineer interested in Data Science, with a KAIZEN approach to continuous improvement, you might be the right fit for our environment where Japanese and European cultures intertwine. Required Skills Experience in a cloud-native environment in at least one major public cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure), with 5 years preferred on Azure. Knowledge of Big Data architectures, both cloud and on-premise. Azure infrastructure and networking experience. Proven ability to build and deliver proofs-of-concept addressing specific business needs using appropriate techniques and technologies. Experience migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud. Monitoring distributed infrastructure using Azure tools or open-source solutions (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus). Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, shell scripting. Knowledge of SQL. Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Kanban. Leadership experience with medium-sized teams. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Apache Spark, Databricks, and other ETL/ELT tools. Microsoft Certification: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Desired Skills and Certifications Additional Big Data certifications (Cloudera, Databricks, etc.) are a plus. Experience with non-Azure ETL/ELT solutions (Talend, Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica PowerCenter, etc.). Experience with Data Visualization tools (PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.).
