Role Description
This is a remote contract role for an In House Counsel based in Italy. The In House Counsel will review and draft legal documents, including client agreements, airline correspondence, claims, and settlement terms. They will analyze aviation and consumer protection regulations, assess case merits, and develop strategies for pursuing compensation claims. The role includes advising internal teams on legal risks, compliance requirements, and best practices for handling customer cases. Day-to-day work also involves managing case files, coordinating with external counsel or regulatory bodies when needed, and supporting dispute resolution or litigation. The In House Counsel will collaborate closely with operations and customer support teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely handling of passenger claims.
Qualifications
* Strong legal research and drafting skills, including the ability to interpret aviation, consumer protection, and contract law.
* Experience reviewing, negotiating, and preparing legal documents, claims, settlement agreements, and client communications.
* Proven ability to assess legal risk, provide clear guidance to non-legal stakeholders, and propose practical, business-aligned solutions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
* Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Law degree from an accredited institution and eligibility to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction; prior in-house or aviation/consumer law experience is preferred.
* Comfort working remote in Italy and collaborating with cross-functional teams focused on customer advocacy and operational efficiency.
