This role is suited to a reflective and student‐centred practitioner who is passionate about inquiry‐based learning, critical thinking, and developing confident communicators in an international context.Working collaboratively with colleagues, the IB English Teacher will contribute to curriculum development, interdisciplinary learning and the wider life of the school, while upholding the values of the IB Learner Profile and Inspired Education ethos.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaching and Learning
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‐led English lessons aligned with IB philosophy, objectives and assessment criteriaTeach English Language and Literature across IB programmes, adapting content to different ages and proficiency levelsPrepare students effectively for internal and external IB assessments, as appropriateDifferentiate instruction to support multilingual learners and diverse learning needsUse formative and summative assessment data to monitor progress, provide feedback and inform planning
Collaboration and Professional Practice
Work collaboratively within the English Department and across subject areas to support interdisciplinary learningContribute to curriculum planning, moderation and review processesParticipate actively in professional development and IB trainingCommunicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and achievement

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
A recognised teaching qualification and degree in English, Literature, or a related fieldExperience teaching English at secondary levelStrong understanding of inquiry‐based, concept‐driven learningExcellent classroom management, communication and interpersonal skillsA collaborative, reflective and student‐focused approachExperience teaching within the IB MYP and/or DPExperience in an international or multilingual school environmentFamiliarity with IB assessment practices and moderationExperience preparing students for IB external assessmentsItalian language skills (an advantage, not essential)Legal right to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit)
