Tool Designer
As a Tool Designer, you will be part of the Tech Office team within our Metal stamping facility.
You will manage the technical tools development in line with customer specifications.
The tools will span various technologies and be applied to products made from different materials, offering a dynamic and stimulating environment.
You will work closely with suppliers throughout the tool manufacturing process and oversee its performance from product sampling to final delivery.
We are looking for a curious and motivated professional eager to take on a new challenge and grow within a technically diverse and fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
Design stamping tools for sheet metal components using CAD software, ensuring process feasibility and manufacturability.
Conduct simulations of stamping processes (e.g., deep drawing, bending) using FEM tools to validate tool performance and prevent defects.
Manage sampling activities, coordinating tool trials, analyzing results, and implementing corrective actions.
Support production launch, providing technical assistance, resolving tooling issues, and updating documentation based on feedback.
Collaborate with suppliers, overseeing tool manufacturing, ensuring compliance with specifications, and managing technical communication.
Participate in technical project meetings, sharing progress, addressing challenges, and aligning with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred or compensating years of experience.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in tool design.
Language Skills:
Professional-level proficiency in Italian and English.
Technical Skills:
Strong technical skills in Mechanical Engineering, Metal stamping and forming, Tool simulation.
Travel Availability:
Willingness to travel internationally on spot to engage with customers and international suppliers.
