Overview
Valmet, a global leader in automation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and professional Site Project Manager to join our Automation Business Line team within the marine sector. This role offers an opportunity to manage cutting-edge automation projects and ensure the successful deployment of Valmet’s Distributed Control Systems (Valmet DNA) in collaboration with our global customers.

Location: Marghera/Monfalcone, Italy
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commissioning activities for the Valmet DNA system, ensuring seamless integration during ship construction and commissioning phases.
* Coordinate and supervise on-site activities, serving as the primary point of contact between Valmet and the client, particularly with the shipyard’s electrical workshop.
* Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution on-site while maintaining detailed and accurate reporting to internal and remote teams.
* Facilitate collaboration between Valmet teams and clients, ensuring efficient project execution and milestone achievement.
* Support system testing both at the shipyard and during sea trials.
Travel
This position requires travel (>75% of working time) to Valmet locations, customer shipyards (Monfalcone/Marghera/Sestri), and other project sites across Italy and internationally (including Poland, Finland, France, and Germany).
Qualifications
* A degree in Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a technical diploma with equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of Valmet systems will be considered a plus.
* 4-7 years of experience in similar roles, preferably with on-site project management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical personnel on-site.
* Proficiency in Italian and English at a professional level (mandatory).
* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects in a dynamic environment.
