We are currently looking for an IT Support Specialist, Southern Europe, who will be based in Buccinasco (MI).
In this role you will be part of the European IT team with specific responsibility for the 1st line support of users based in South Europe (Italy, Spain and Portugal). The aim of the role is to provide IT technical support to Leica employees ensuring the best technical support, the best customer experience and compliance with Leica Global IT standards processes.
Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain company-wide hardware and software standard for computers and related peripherals. Ensure standards compliance on all employee equipment.
* Manage day-to-day hardware and software technical support for Leica employees and provide solutions to technical problems. Apply tools and technology to fix the problem and identify and solve the underlying cause. Maintain effective communications with employee during issue resolution.
* Ensure maintenance and repair plans are in place and up to date for all covered equipment. Facilitate repair and replacement of equipment as necessary.
* Manage the installation of licensed and third party software to ensure compliance with vendor requirements. Ensure upgrades and replacements of software are conducted in accordance with the PC standards and configuration definitions.
* Provide remote employees with user friendly and effective tools for connectivity to Leica services in conjunction with defined security requirements (including cable, wireless and other 3rd party access methods).
* Assist in the maintenance of the physical plant infrastructures, including wiring and cabling for voice and data to central hub positions, and switch / hub configuration and controls in order to ensure integrity and reliability of the infrastructure. Ensure wiring standards are maintained and upgraded as necessary.
Qualifications
* IT Support educational background
* Minimum 2 years of professional experience in help desk / IT Operations in structured companies
* Proficient Italian and English is required. Any additional European language is a plus.
* Good knowledge of Windows systems, software and hardware management. ITIL knowledge would be a big plus.
* A Microsoft Certification is a nice to have.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
