THE ROLE OVERVIEWThe Experienced Certified Accountant (Italy) will build a small accounting team and insource all accounting activities from our external tax advisor. The senior accountant will support ILOS’ Italian business with strong financial reporting, statutory compliance and day-to-day accounting oversight. The role sits within the finance function and works closely with local and central teams to ensure accurate financial information, timely closes, and robust control across our Italian entities and projects.This is a hands-on role covering core accounting, local statutory obligations, and support to budgeting and forecasting. You will help build scalable finance processes as ILOS continues to grow in Italy, ensuring we remain compliant while providing clear, reliable reporting to support decision-making.
TASKSIndependent preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Italian Commercial CodeAccrual accounting and audit-proof documentation of financial statementsGeneral ledger accounting for all Italian group companiesEnsuring accurate accounting of complex business transactions within the Italian company groupHandling VAT-related matters, including filings and auditsPreparation and review of tax returnsProcessing of financial transactions for Italian companiesPreparation of intercompany invoices in the state invoice system based on group-wide transfer pricing guidelinesIntercompany reconciliation of open items and loansReview yearly budget forecast and implement actions/amendments.Collaborating with internal departments and external partnersManaging special topics such as mergers, liquidations and company/share acquisitionsProviding professional support to accounting teams across all group entities and communicating in EnglishSupporting the optimization of internal processes and structuresBuild up a small team related to the expected growth of the company group
PROFILE
Completed qualification as a Certified AccountantSound experience and confidence in overall bookkeeping and in preparing independent financial statements under the Italian Commercial Law (IFRS knowledge is a plus)Solid understanding of tax law, particularly VATExperience working with external auditors and tax authoritiesIndependent, structured and solution-oriented working styleOrganized, detail-focused, and reliable with delivery and follow-throughStrong teamwork skills, openness and willingness to actively contributeClear communicator who can work well with non-finance stakeholders in a remote, fast-moving businessFluent in English, German language skills a plus.
