As a Training Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in developing and improving training material for wind turbine blades handling and logistics. If you lack experience with transporting composite materials, blades parts or whole blades, you will have a strong motivation to learn. Your focus will be on modern training systems and materials, including process vision or digital enabling systems, aimed at factory logistics employees.
Your main responsibilities:
* Design and optimize training material within the handling and logistics process.
* Analyze AS IS and future state of our training material and systems.
* Create process roadmaps and plans for future states.
* Define training material requirements and specifications for materials to be developed or sourced.
* Standardize generic layup training materials.
* Help build a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
* Investigate and solve training issues using structured methods such as the 5‑x Why and Fishbone diagrams.
* Apply continuous improvement principles using Lean tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final training material quality.
Education:
* Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
* Train‑the‑Trainer or other training education.
Experience:
* 6‑8 years of developing training material mainly for unskilled workers.
* Experience training shop‑floor employees.
* Planning training for up to 100 persons.
* Developed/defined functional training material for employees with varying education levels.
Essential skills:
* Ability to assess skill gaps and define learning objectives aligned with business goals.
* Knowledge of adult learning principles, blended learning, and experiential training formats.
* Collaborate with engineering managers and subject‑matter experts to co‑develop content.
* Ensure training aligns with ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal policies.
* Familiarity with LMS (Learning Management Systems) and e‑learning tools.
* Gather input from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs.
* Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems.
* Data‑driven decision‑making using tools like 5‑Why and Fishbone diagrams.
* Self‑motivated, result‑oriented, and organized.
* Ability to work with others in a large organization and build an intensive network across cultures and time zones.
* Integral part of cross‑functional product development projects.
* Customer‑oriented with a clear view of the business value chain.
* Committed to continuous learning.
