Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests, often involving diagnostics, help request tracking tools, and hands-on desktop support.
Key Responsibilities :
* Monitor and support end user hardware and software proactively and promptly.
* Prioritize workload to address critical issues first.
* Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
* Test new hardware and software before deployment.
* Configure and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
* Maintain hardware and software inventories.
* Manage content management systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
* Oversee web environments and websites, ensuring security, quality, and content accuracy.
* Assist with VOIP phone systems, cellphones, and printers/copiers as backup support.
* Create and update user documentation for help desk support.
* Ensure equipment operation through repairs, following manufacturer instructions and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
* Enhance knowledge through educational opportunities and professional reading.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and other regulatory standards.
* Participate in disaster preparedness planning for data and equipment security.
Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science or IT preferred. Minimum two years’ experience in a tech support role, with proficiency in Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint) and operating systems. Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills required.
