Role: V&V Engineer – Onboard Signaling Systems

Activities:
As a V&V Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying existing and functional software routines by executing test campaigns based on predefined inputs and expected behaviors. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with functional and safety requirements for onboard train signaling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute verification and validation activities on already implemented software routines for onboard signaling systems.
* Run test cases using predefined input data, observe system behavior, and compare outputs with expected results.
* Support the analysis of test results and document findings in accordance with V&V procedures.
* Ensure that software functions meet technical, functional, and safety requirements, aligned with railway industry standards.
* Report issues and anomalies clearly to the development and system teams for resolution.
* Collaborate closely with system engineers, testers, and developers in an Agile or V-model lifecycle environment.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
* At least 2 years of experience in software testing or V&V, preferably within the railway or transportation sector .
* Familiarity with onboard signaling systems (e.g., ERTMS/ETCS, CCS-B).
* Experience with test execution, data analysis, and software validation processes.
* Ability to interpret technical specifications, requirements, and functional designs.
* Good knowledge of railway standards (e.g., CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129) is a strong plus.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian or other European languages is an asset.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of scripting or test automation tools.
* Experience with test benches or simulation environments used in the railway domain.
* Understanding of safety-critical system development.
