Join to apply for the IT Strategic Vendors Senior Buyer role at Generali 2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the IT Strategic Vendors Senior Buyer role at Generali Within the Procurement organization the Unit of IT Strategic Vendors has been recently created to steer the negotiation with most important IT Vendors for all Generali Group legal entities and with regards to all IT categories (software, hardware, services, telco, networking). This unit reports directly to the Head of Strategic Sourcing Strategic Vendors & Strategic Projects. The buyer will be part of a team of Generali employees and externals reporting to the Category Manager in charge of Sourcing for Strategic Vendors. The IT Strategic Vendors buyer has the mandate and the responsibility to support the category manager of the area in managing at global level IT Procurement (software, hardware, and services) for the Generali Group subsidiaries with regards to the most important IT vendors within the industry. The buyer manages sourcing activities of the area developing partnerships with internal customers across the company. Objective of the activities is to achieve the best possible conditions for the whole Generali group (optimal in the sense of quality, time to market and costs) and to ensure an optimal supplier base. Key responsibilities: Management of negotiations for the sourcing process assigned Identification of cost reduction/ optimization levers Continuous market intelligence / analyses to identify alternative suppliers, new developments and improved solutions, prediction of price developments as basis for improvement measures Management of the activities in alignment with state-of-the-art methods and tools (e.g. demand management, design-to-cost, TCO) Contribute to the achievement of savings target as aligned with Procurement Delivery and the respective Category Manager Support to the target achievement and fulfillment of existing reporting requirements Support the global frame contracts definition with strategic suppliers Key organizational relationships: The buyer for Strategic Vendors is closely aligned with the respective Category manager and with the Head of Strategic Sourcing Strategic Vendors & Strategic Projects. The IT Strategic Vendors buyer will report directly to the Strategic Vendors Category Manager. The Category manager together with the Head of Strategic Sourcing Strategic Vendors & Strategic Projects provides senior management sponsorship Additionally, the Strategic Vendors buyer must constantly contribute in align the strategy with country procurement departments as well as internal customers Expected Target Achievements: Support category manager in the negotiation of Group global contracts Establish partnership with his key stakeholders at Group and Country Level Manage specifications Implement savings levers and resulting measures as planned Requirements Functional (IT): Highly desired: experience with procurement of IT SW Licenses and Maintenance, HW Products and maintenance, IT Services (Application development and maintenance, infrastructure services, operations, IT consultancy) University level degree or comparable Professional/Managerial: Problem-solving and analytical skillset Communication skills and ability to manage different stakeholders Operational focus, ability to drive topics and deliver results even under pressure and time constraints Fluent English, another European language is a plus Behavioral: An untarnished reputation for integrity Proactivity, high energy and enthusiasm, with a “hands-on” approach.
