Our team combines deep expertise in embedded systems, distributed architecture, and real-time audio processing to create next-generation onboard rail platforms. You’ll collaborate daily with engineers across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and China, working closely with hardware, system, and integration teams to ensure seamless end-to-end solutions.
Job Description
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the Embedded Software Engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing the distributed systems infrastructure and backend components for our next-generation onboard rail audio platform. You’ll architect and implement real-time audio frameworks, optimize embedded Linux performance, and ensure cybersecurity compliance. Your work will directly impact passenger safety and experience, and you’ll report to the R&D Technical Lead while collaborating with global stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, reliable solutions.
What will your typical day look like?
* Design, implement, and document distributed audio system components
* Collaborate with hardware and system engineers to ensure reliability across networked devices
* Support software architecture decisions and conduct code reviews
* Debug and optimize performance across embedded Linux devices
* Apply cybersecurity measures and integrate modern technologies like containerization and edge computing
* Mentor junior engineers and maintain coding standards through automated tools and CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications
What do we want to know about you?
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* 5+ years of professional experience with modern C++ (C++14/17 or newer) and embedded Linux development
* Strong knowledge of distributed systems and IP networking
* Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and Git
* Familiarity with build frameworks (Yocto), CI/CD pipelines, and cybersecurity best practices
* Fluent in English
* Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and internationally
* Nice-to-Have: Audio signal processing, containerization (Docker), advanced networking, microcontroller platforms, and interest in edge AI/ML
