Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We ship the cloud and maintain data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to AWS services. We work on challenging problems and invite bold ideas to own and complete them.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with teams across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at a low cost for customers. Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee compliance with local, provincial and federal environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
* Develop regional strategic programs by integrating with engineering, construction, and operations. Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
* Function as a leader regarding regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction.
* Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
* Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
* Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
* Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
* Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
* Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
* Submit time-critical reports to various governmental agencies.
* Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.
About the team
The AWS Environmental team is expanding and dynamic, responsible for enabling AWS's growth worldwide and ensuring compliance of AWS's global operations, including data centers and other facilities. The team architects and implements AWS's global environmental programs, including risk and compliance systems, global policies and procedures, standards, tools, auditing, metrics, and training.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field
* Experience serving as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or program manager
* Experience with regulatory assessments, construction notifications, environmental permitting, environmental incident notifications, wastewater discharge requirements, waste management and reporting. Broad knowledge of Saudi Arabia's federal and provincial environmental regulations and standards
* Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those not directly within your reporting lines
* Fluent in Arabic, written and spoken

* Experience successfully implementing environmental systems
* Organizational and project management skills
