PpNorthstrat is seeking a highly motivated Junior Logistics and Material Management Specialist for our production contract producing and maintaining space electronic warfare systems. This role supports the Logistics Manager in management/tracking of inventory, government property, and logistics coordination utilizing public and private transportation mechanisms for both domestic and international shipping. This individual will support production, sustainment of operations, and maintaining of systems. /p pAs a Junior Logistics and Material Management Specialist, you will be responsible for receipt of materials, managing inventory, component replacement, audit and inspections of existing inventory, component failure metric tracking and coordination of supplying resources to fielding teams for system maintenance and repair. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, optimize inventory levels, maintain the government logistics tracking system, and contribute to the overall success of the production process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, apply analytical thinking, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liAssist the logistics manager with procurement, shipping and receiving, inventory management, RMAs, and addressing production and operational needs. /li liManage purchase orders, product orders, and property records using an enterprise logistics management tool in coordination with other members of the supply chain team. /li liReport on the system fleet status using a government logistics tracking tool. /li liManage good receipt, inspection, storing, and staging processes to ensure smooth handling of materials from arrival through production and to delivery. /li liMaintain accurate government property records, documentation, detailed reports of usages and failures, and ITAR compliance. /li liManage and update inventory management records, including detailed unique IDs and government property IDs, to ensure accurate tracking and accountability. /li liCollaborate with production, deployment, and maintenance teams to ensure proper supplies are ready for site installations, replacement parts and spares. /li liCoordinate domestic and international shipment, including scheduling, tracking, and maintaining documentation. /li liEnsure compliance with all relevant transportation and global trade regulations and company policies for both domestic and international shipments including ITAR. /li liManage shipping documentation such as DD1149, DD1348, Bill of Lading, packing lists, receiving and shipping forms, hazardous material handling, and proof of delivery. /li liCommunicate with suppliers, customers, shipping companies, and freight carriers. /li liProcess Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) materials. /li liIdentify and resolve problems with received materials in coordination with quality assurance and production teams as needed. /li liResolve logistics issues such as shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies in a timely manner. /li liInspect incoming and outgoing products for quality assurance/quality control and adherence to specifications. /li liVerify completed systems area properly packed, marked, and ready for shipment. /li liEnsure timely and accurate deliveries to meet customer expectations. /li liEffectively manage time to support aggressive delivery need dates. /li liCollaborate with logistics and production team members to improve efficiency and productivity. /li liMaintain a clean and organized work environment. /li liFollow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. /li liAnalyze logistics data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMust have a High School Diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience. /li liFamiliarity with logistics and production operations including asset management of government property. /li liKnowledge of shipping procedures, warehouse operations, and inventory management. /li liThe ability/willingness to operate forklift and pallet jacks. /li liAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams like procurement, production, and operations. /li liPhysically able to conduct the actions necessary to perform logistics activities including lifting, racking and stacking equipment. /li liMust show effective communication to coordinate with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders. /li liStrong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery. /li liAttention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. /li liAbility to troubleshoot logistical challenges and develop efficient solutions. /li liAbility to make data-driven decisions under pressure. /li liUnderstanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, transportation, and distribution. /li liAbility to work effectively under time constraints. /li liWillingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends if necessary. /li liAbility to adjust to unexpected changes, like supply disruptions or demand fluctuations. /li liProficiency in logistics software (A2B, Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint). /li /ul h3Desired Skills/Experience /h3 ul liCertifications: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Logistics Associate (CLA). /li liFamiliarity with the Logistics Information Network Systems (LIONS) III logistics reporting system is highly desired. /li liTechnical certification or training in a related field. /li liFamiliarity with local and international shipping regulations, import/export laws, domestic transportation regulations, and hazardous material handling. /li liExperience in global shipping management/customs clearance. /li liExperience evaluating and dealing with OCONUS storage options. /li liKnowledge of inventory control systems, methods like FIFO/LIFO, and stock optimization. /li liStrong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and suppliers. /li liKnowledge of storage methods, material handling, and safety Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month. For example: John worked 12 hours on June 1st to meet a project deadline. On June 15th, John only worked 4 hours because he left early for a long weekend.
