Five Star Equipment serves Northern Pennsylvania and New York State, offering rentals of John Deere equipment, aerial lifts, generators, air compressors, and light towers.
We currently have an immediate opening at our Syracuse, NY location.
We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced outside rental professional to join our team. The outside rental representative is responsible for driving rentals of our construction equipment. You will build and maintain relationships with contractors, construction companies, and other potential clients. The primary focus is to increase drive rental revenue growth in the specified territory. This role demands a strategic approach to both existing customer relationship management and the acquisition of new accounts.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
\tIdentify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction industry.
\tConduct daily site visits to understand client needs and recommend appropriate equipment.
\tPrepare and present rental proposals and contracts.
\tNegotiate rental terms and conditions with clients.
\tProvide exceptional customer service and support throughout the rental process.
\tCollaborate with the internal team to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment.
\tStay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
\tParticipate in classroom or on-line company or John Deere training as needed.
\tMonitors competitors' activity/products and provides timely communication to rental management.
\tFollows the standard for conduct within the department. Provides a positive, proactive attitude and cooperates with all company employees, vendors and customers.
\tFollows Company and department policies whether written or verbal.
\tContribute to Five Star's overall success by performing additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
\tTwo years outside rental or sales experience in construction or a closely related industry.
\tUnderstanding of construction equipment and its applications.
\tAbility to build and maintain relationships with clients.
\tSelf-motivated with a strong drive to achieve rental targets.
\tAbility to use software applications such as the CDK business system, Integrated Rental (Wynne System), Microsoft Office, Excel, and Internet functions.
\tAbility to work flexible hours as well as work in various demanding environmental conditions.
\tExcellent communication and relationship skills.
\tStrong organizational and time-management skills
\tMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and must be able to pass a background check.
