The role holder shall report to Lead - Process Research and shall perform research activities such as designing and conducting scientific experiments, analyzing and interpreting results to create significant value for the company's Process Research division.
Strategic Responsibilities
1. Contribute efficiently to the success of Pharma Chemistry by driving research and team performance according to objectives set by the Director and Head of Chemistry.
2. Fulfill requirements established by Group and Team Leaders, including specific research projects.
3. Ensure the security of intellectual property for Pharma, including patent applications and freedom-to-operate considerations.
4. Stay updated with the latest in chemistry through literature scanning to foster research innovation.
5. Support the Team Leader with target setting and seek ongoing functional feedback.
Operational Responsibilities
1. Work with the team to achieve and exceed targets within the framework provided by the Group and Team Leaders.
2. Keep updated on the state-of-the-art techniques in synthetic chemistry, focusing on innovative process research.
3. Document and report all research results as per SOPs and guidelines.
4. Actively seek support from the Team Leader when needed.
5. Conduct literature searches using available tools such as Reaxys, SciFinder, and patents.
6. Perform synthetic experiments safely and efficiently, accurately capturing procedures and data.
7. Update the Team Leader on project progress and issues regularly.
8. Participate actively in team meetings and technical discussions.
People Responsibilities
1. Support team members through peer feedback and knowledge sharing.
2. Maintain healthy working relationships with related teams and departments.
3. Ensure individual safety at all times.
Competenze ed esperienza
Education Qualification
MSc/PhD in Organic Chemistry from a reputed university or institute, either in India or overseas, with excellent academic credentials.
Work Experience
Proven experience as an experimentalist in the chemical pharmaceutical industry.
Functional Competencies
* Knowledge of Organic Chemistry
* Proficiency in using search engines like SciFinder, Reaxys, and patents databases
* Lab experience with ability to interpret analytical data such as NMR
* Excellent experimentation skills
