Job Description
Hitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior CAB Engineer to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role involves tasks in the Engineering Department, based in Pistoia, Italy.
Accountabilities
* Support and coordinate during bid and project development of the driver's cabin technical design.
* Define conceptual solutions for Equipment Integration in the cabin.
* Perform ergonomic assessments for train drivers.
* Prepare system requirements specifications for mechanical systems.
* Analyze suppliers' technical proposals.
* Create and review technical descriptions of systems.
* Verify drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation and integration.
* Check FEM analysis reports.
* Conduct tolerance analysis for equipment integration.
* Prepare and verify performance test specifications.
* Support system type and onboard integration tests.
* Participate in design reviews with clients and suppliers.
Required Skills / Knowledge
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* At least 3 years of experience in railway or mechanical industry as a Vehicle Engineer or mechanical integrator.
* Experience with driver’s cab design is preferred.
* Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schemes.
* Experience with bolted, riveted, and glued connections.
* Experience with resin parts, FRP.
* Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge.
* Proficiency with Word, Excel, and mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia).
* Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
* Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and contribute constructively.
* Willingness to undertake short-term national and international business trips.
