Farming IndustryDuties & ResponsibilitiesLocation: Komani/Sterkstroom/MoltenoKey ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety OversightEnsure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (1993), its regulations and other applicable, implement, and monitor the site HSE Management System in alignment with ISO 45001.Conduct daily site safety inspections and ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems.Oversee induction, toolbox talks, and safety training of all contractors and visitors.Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.Contractors Safety OversightMonitor and audit HSE performance of all subcontractors (OEM, BOP, services).Verify that contractors\' risk assessments, method statements, and work permits are suitable and sufficient.Ensure contractors adhere to the SPV\'s integrated site safety programme.Oversee security contractor on siteEnvironmental ManagementManage the implementation and monitoring of the SPV\'s Environmental Management System and Environmental Management PlanImplement and maintain compliance with industry best practice and environmental permits/licences.Monitor waste management, hazardous substances, oil spill prevention, avian/bat monitoring, and biodiversity requirements.Liaise with regulators on environmental reporting and inspectionsReporting and ComplianceMaintain accurate records of incidents, audits, inspections, and HSE performance monthly and quarterly HSE reports for the Asset Manager, Board, lenders, and the IPP Office.Support compliance audits and due diligence by lenders, regulators, and insurers etcEmergency Preparedness & ResponseDevelop, implement, and test emergency response plans (fire, medical, evacuation, environmental incidents).Coordinate drills with contractors, security, and local emergency services.Ensure adequate first aid, firefighting, and rescue equipment is in place and serviceableKey Competencies & SkillsStrong knowledge of South African OHS and environmental to independently enforce compliance across multiple contractors.Analytical, auditing, and reporting skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.Proactive, assertive, and resilient under operational pressures.Computer literacy (MS Office, incident/HSE reporting systems).Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification (or equivalent recognized safety qualification).Minimum 5 years\' HSE experience in energy, utilities, or heavy industry.Prior experience managing HSEQ/ HSES/ HSE on renewable energy plantsDesired Experience & QualificationKey RequirementsDegree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related fieldSAMTRAC / NEBOSH (or equivalent recognised safety qualification)Minimum 5 years\' HSE experience in energy, utilities, or heavy industryRenewable energy plant experience advantageousStrong knowledge of South African OHS & environmental legislationExcellent auditing, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skillsLocation: (Komani / Sterkstroom / Molteno, Eastern Cape)Industry: Agriculture / Renewable EnergySalary: R75,000 per monthContract: 3 YearsReports to: Site Manager
