The Role: Data Exploitation Specialist
Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Earth observation missions and contribute to the acquisition, distribution, and exploitation of data from satellites. As a Data Exploitation Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting ESA Technical Officers in various phases of data exploitation projects.
Your primary responsibilities will include generating scientific and technical notes as needed during project phases, participating in project meetings and reviews, and reviewing technical deliverables from projects. You will also be responsible for following software algorithms development, testing them, and reporting on progress. Additionally, you will provide support for the organisation and running of scientific workshops, user consultation meetings, and training courses.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support ESA Technical Officers in different phases of data exploitation projects
* Generate scientific and technical notes whenever needed during relevant project phases
* Participate in project meetings and reviews
* Support review of technical deliverables from projects
* FOLLOW related software algorithms development as well as toolboxes, test them and report on development
* Provide support to the organisation and running of scientific workshops, user consultation meetings and training courses

Your Skills and Qualifications:
* Scientific programming (e.g. Python, Matlab, C, C++, IDL)
* Experience in data processing within a cloud environment, Artificial Intelligence methods, modelling
* Experience in sentinel data processing using ESA sentinel toolboxes
* Good technical and analytical skills
* Good documentation writing skills
* Good knowledge of Land scientific community and key international scientific programmes
* Ability to manage several tasks in parallel and to prioritise
* Capability to work in a team
* Pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
* French speaking and experience with SAR remote sensing would be appreciated
