At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.Position SummaryThe Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing the indirect purchasing activities within the CAPITAL or CONSUMABLE stream, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Main responsibilities include processing purchase orders, negotiating contracts with suppliers, supporting audits, liaising with key departments (such as Customer Service, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse Inbound, Logistics, Regulatory, RD), and maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment within the Purchasing department.DutiesProcess purchase orders according to the spending matrix and business needs.Negotiate contracts with suppliers.Support process audits and monitor supplier performance.Support supplier evaluation and roll out cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives.Handle disputes and quality issues with suppliers in compliance with company policies.Develop and maintain vendor metrics for reporting purposes.Support the Purchasing team and department manager.Assist in launching new products and sustaining projects from a purchasing perspective.Collaborate closely with Planning, Master Data, Tech Sourcing, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Logistics, Regulatory, and RD teams.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree.3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.Leadership qualities and proactive attitude.Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently, anticipate issues, and handle multiple activities and projects efficiently.STERIS is a leading provider of products and services in the healthcare sector, aiming to meet the needs of growing areas such as procedures, devices, vaccines, and biologics.
