Additional selections may be made to fill positions with similar duties, responsibilities and qualifications. /p h3MAJOR DUTIES /h3ulliDevelop, deploy, and maintain bespoke capabilities, tools, and analytics needed to conduct the FBI's counterterrorism mission. /liliUnderstand and partner with enterprise environments, architectures, applications, policies and compliance to provide capabilities. /liliPartner with mission teams to build automation capabilities, exploit data, and provide technical support. /liliPerform design analysis, testing, documentation, and implementation of complex computer programs and secure databases. /liliApply both theoretical and application-oriented computer science methodologies. /liliConduct requirement elicitations and analyses for improving the design of existing tools and gathering needs for new capabilities. /liliCreate tailored data visualizations from disparate enterprise data repositories. /liliAdvise on and review designs of other application projects to ensure quality products are delivered. /liliDevelop and extend cost methods for the purpose of support comparisons. /li /ul h3SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE /h3pGS-7: Applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. SE is defined as follows: /pulliUse existing tools and methods to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. /liliAssist with implementing custom tools, techniques, and procedures used to address unique investigative situations. /liliProvide basic technical and other professional assistance in conducting interviews; searches; and other investigative, operational, liaison, and/or outreach activity. /liliAssist in drafting documents on basic technical and other professional matters. /li /ulpGS-9: Applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows: /ppIn addition to the above: /pulliTroubleshoot and modify, as needed, existing tools and methods to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. /liliAssist with developing custom tools and methods to identify, analyze, and preserve digital evidence. /liliAssist in drafting documents on more advanced technical matters. /li /ul h3GS-11: /h3pApplicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows: /pulliAssist others with basic system and network procurement, installation, administration, and security. /liliUse, troubleshoot, and modify existing cyber tools and methods to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. /liliAssist with developing and implementing custom tools and methods. /liliProvide basic technical and other professional assistance in conducting interviews, searches, and other investigative and operations activities. /liliDraft documents on basic technical and other professional matters and assist in drafting documents on advanced matters. /liliAssist in coordinating with the private sector and other divisions. /li /ul h3GS-12: /h3pApplicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows: /pulliPerform basic computer system and network procurement, installation, administration, and security and assist others on more complex matters. /liliUse, troubleshoot, and modify existing cyber tools and methods to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. /liliDevelop and implement basic custom tools. /liliProvide technical and other professional assistance in conducting interviews, searches, and other investigative activities. /liliDraft documents on technical and other professional matters and assist in drafting documents on advanced matters. /liliPerform liaison duties and outreach. /li /ul h3GS-13: /h3pApplicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows: /pulliPerform advanced computer system and network procurement, installation, administration, and security, and assist others on more complex matters. /liliUse, troubleshoot, and modify existing cyber tools and methods to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. /liliIdentify, develop, vet, and implement new tools and methods. /liliProvide advanced technical and other professional assistance in conducting interviews, searches, and other investigative activities. /liliCoordinate with the private sector and other divisions to lead in resolving technical and other relevant issues. /liliActs as a subject matter expert and testify as such in court. /liliRemain current with major new advances in cyber and technology topics and provide guidance, tools, and methods on addressing these advances at the national level. /li /ul h3KEY REQUIREMENTS /h3ulliMust be a U.S. citizen. /liliMust be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. /liliMust be willing to travel as required. /liliMust meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements. /li /ul h3EDUCATION AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS /h3h3EDUCATION /h3ulliCandidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science from a U.S. accredited college or university. /li /ulpEducation may be bsubstituted /b for Specialized Experience (SE) as follows: /pulliGS-7: Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement or one full year of graduate-level education. Superior academic achievement is the completion of all the requirements of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average of 3.0 or higher as recorded on an official transcript, or as based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum, or (3) honor society membership. /liliGS-9: Applicant must have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LLB or JD, if related. /liliGS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LLM, if related. /liliGS-12 and above: Education may not be substituted for SE at this grade level. /li /ulpAll degrees must be verified by submitting college transcripts. /ppThe FBI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for this vacancy.
