The Field Service Technician coordinates and attends troubleshooting and repairs of all valve-actuator-positioner products for customers across industries such as oil and gas, chemical, power, nuclear, coal, mining, and water/wastewater. The role involves collaboration with the Commercial Team, major manufacturing plants, Engineering/Quality departments, QRCs, and CSCs within the region.
Responsibilities include training field service technicians at CSCs, creating a resource pool for customer support outside the region, and managing scope of work such as TAR tracking through FlowForce, planning, site walks, inventory assessment, troubleshooting, automation services, retrofit/changeout/upgrade/instrumentation, and monitoring opportunities. The technician will participate in TAR activities onsite or at QRCs as needed.
This position services both onshore and offshore customers, requiring an experienced engineer/technician capable of providing confident expertise during operational issues. The technician plans repairs and installations, oversees start-up, conducts maintenance, and monitors product performance at customer sites. While often the sole Flowserve representative onsite, they can consult with the Field Service and Service Engineering Teams to ensure optimal product operation. The role involves extensive travel and is organizationally based within the global QRC network.
Responsibilities :
* Support a positive HSE culture, reduce injuries, and maintain a safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations. Organize necessary equipment and PPE. Make in-person service calls, assess mechanical, instrument, and electrical problems, and take corrective actions.
* Oversee the full repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly. Ensure successful and timely equipment installation, check equipment prior to start-up, and assess performance. Work alongside customer personnel and lead work crews as needed. Monitor equipment maintenance and performance, and train customers in proper operation and maintenance procedures.
Identify sales opportunities during field service for follow-up, quoting, and customer presentations. Collaborate with Sales & Commercial Operations teams for coordinated customer service. Maintain accurate records of reports, quotes, jobs, and costs using Flowserve systems. Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, damage reporting, and risk assessments onsite or at third-party facilities. Maintain communication with local bases, manufacturing plants, and QRCs for technical support and information sharing. During off-peak seasons, support local QRCs as needed. Engage in root cause analysis and support continuous improvement efforts.
* Complete and submit final reports before leaving the job site. Uphold company values of ethics, safety, and quality in all actions.
Requirements :
* Technical High School (HTL) and/or Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of valve-actuator and positioner products. Proficient in factory testing requirements, software, and troubleshooting digital products. Capable of working autonomously with extensive domestic and international travel. Excellent documentation skills and professional communication, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and interface effectively with customers, representing the company positively. Proficient in systems such as FlowForce, AMP, Oracle, SAP, and others listed. Willing to undergo necessary immunizations and vaccinations for international travel.
