Overview Package for the internship and teaching role including training, teaching duties, and related activities at WKMT Kensington, WKMT Camberwell, and/or students’ homes. The position may include living and working premises if available. Responsibilities Assist in teaching piano and keyboard lessons, up to the number of hours required by WKMT staff, including one-to-one sessions on request and when mutually agreed with the Maestro. Deliver up to 39 hours of tuition to piano students of all ages and levels within WKMT premises or at students’ homes as required by WKMT staff manager. Teach on average up to 30–33 hours per week; note that teaching hours vary during the year. Prepare pupils for performances, examinations, auditions, festivals, and gigs; keep accurate records of student development in the IT system. Engage in non-tutorial activities such as performances and recordings. Perform basic office tasks and support students in using internet resources. Maintain professional presentation and hospitality standards during lessons. Collaborate with WKMT SEO efforts as needed. Role Requirements / Qualifications Experience in teaching is preferred; a training programme is available and access to regular training sessions is granted after successful completion of probation, regardless of prior experience. Adherence to health and safety standards and compliance with child protection legislation. A proven record of excellence or at least decency in artistic deliveries (recordings, concert programs, newspaper articles, etc.). Clarifications and Important Notes Holidays: Paid holidays should be taken between the following periods: 25 July to 1 September and 18 December to 5 January. Some holidays may be exchanged for days off needed to deliver or prepare concerts. Day off: One day off per week, to be agreed with the studio, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. Teaching hours distribution: Hours will be distributed unevenly; efforts are made to cluster hours, with access to a piano during spare time where possible. Rotas: Rotas are sent the day before; changes may occur up to the evening before teaching day. Occasional same-day bookings may occur. Covers: If a teacher is sick or unable to teach, other team members may cover hours; the staff manager assigns hours based on availability. Presentation: Teachers are responsible for their professional appearance and conduct. SEO, Social Media and Marketing Interns are trained to promote studio activities through a range of activities, including social media management, backlinking, article production, video production, keyword research, competitor analysis, and citation audits.
