Fresenius Medical Care, a worldwide multinational company and leader in the production of dialysis machinery and services for renal insufficiency treatment, is seeking a Senior Product Designer for the Digital Services and Solutions team. The successful candidate will report to the Director of User Experience – Digital Services and Solutions. This position is based anywhere in Italy, with an Italian contract and 100% remote work. The Senior Product Designer will create new user experiences and enhance existing products for web and mobile projects, including embedded software on medical devices. Responsibilities include developing mockups, prototypes, service blueprints, user journeys, process flowcharts, user scenarios, and other UX activities. The role requires deep domain knowledge and product expertise to deliver seamless user experiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and promote user-centric design and UX best practices across the organization. The role involves ensuring designs support business goals, meet project timelines, and manage dependencies across verticals. Collaboration with product owners, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders in an agile environment is essential. CRITICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with stakeholders to deliver web, mobile, touch screen, and embedded software experiences that support the product roadmap and positively impact patients and healthcare providers. Define project requirements and develop user-centered design solutions to create top-tier products. Conduct and apply user research activities appropriate to each project’s maturity level. Synthesize data from various sources to understand users and workflows. Collaborate with Human Factors Engineering on usability studies. Create service blueprints, user journeys, prototypes, wireframes, and storyboards. Design holistically across multiple products and platforms, balancing user needs and business goals. Assist in preparing documentation for embedded medical device software, including design history. Manage client communications related to projects. Incorporate data-driven insights into design processes. Act as a Human-Centered Design and UX ambassador organization-wide. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback. Mentor junior designers. Maintain knowledge of UX processes, tools, and trends. Perform additional duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Industrial/Product Design, Psychology, Anthropology, or related fields, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of experience in product design for large-scale enterprise solutions. Experience designing for medical devices or complex cross-platform solutions. Proven track record of shipping large enterprise products. Experience with mobile applications and native app development. Understanding of UI front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, Angular, React, JavaScript) is a plus. Design experience across various media and platforms (desktop, touch screen, mobile, embedded software). Knowledge of FDA and ISO Human Factors guidelines for medical devices is preferred. Strong technical knowledge in development methodologies and project execution. Ability to simplify complex workflows and problems. Persuasive storytelling and influence skills. Proficiency with Figma. A portfolio of work is required for the selection process.
