Role Objective
The team works on keeping map data accurate and updated based on real-world changes. The work includes reviewing issues submitted by map users and testing location results shown in web search and map platforms. The Mapping City/Country Expert supports transit and mapping data quality by providing local market expertise and improving city and country-level data accuracy.
Responsibilities – City Expert
* Communicate with internal teams and external partners to support project goals
* Create city-level transit data policies based on local market needs and regulations
* Identify user expectations, data gaps, and transit-related issues
* Improve transit data models using local knowledge of transportation systems
* Validate and review updated transit data
* Edit and maintain different types of transit data
* Resolve complex mapping and transit data issues
* Support Program Managers in communication with data providers and partners
* Conduct field research to verify transit information and user issues
* Support outage and alert management for assigned cities
* Manage city-specific data pipelines using internal platforms and basic programming skills
Responsibilities – Country Expert
* Create country-specific guideline documents for operations teams
* Provide local expertise for mapping policies and regional regulations
* Support mapping operations with knowledge of traffic laws, landmarks, and political mapping formats
* Review and troubleshoot mapping and operational issues
* Act as a point of contact for country-specific mapping questions
* Perform quality audits and identify operational errors
* Review imported mapping data before system integration
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct political and regional formats are applied
Requirements
* 1-3 years of relevant experience
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
* Good communication skills in English and local language
* Tech-savvy with basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, C#, or C++)
* Familiarity with GIS or mapping tools
* Strong knowledge of local transit systems, traffic laws, and landmarks
* Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail
