We’re looking for a Software & SCADA Developer to join the SW&SCADA team, within the Software Engineering Area. The candidate must have good understanding of PLC and SCADA programming and will focus on the software engineering of critical infrastructures like Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plants and related products.
The SW&SCADA Developer plays a key role in implementing, testing/commission and maintaining our BESS projects. The SW&SCADA Developer can:
· Follow execution projects, addressing technical specifications shared by the control engineering team and participating in the system commissioning on-site;
· Work with R&D teams in new products implementation and testing;
· The SW&SCADA Developer will have to deal directly with standardization processes, seeking always for new features and producing suitable guidelines and instructions.
Tasks and Duties
* Convert Control Engineering technical specs into operating requirements.
* Develop PLC control software for NHOA systems, and create HMI/SCADA applications aligned with standards.
* Configure and integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial devices.
* Partner with IT/OT Cybersecurity to secure OT device communications.
* Conduct FAT/SAT testing, document results, and troubleshoot issues.
* Produce comprehensive documentation to support maintenance and future troubleshooting.
* Participate in site commissioning:
o Cold commissioning: prepare control systems before startup
o Hot commissioning: support full system integration
* Provide level-2 support post-commissioning.
* Continuously improve development processes, tools, and methodologies.
* Maintain strict adherence to HSE policies: PPE use, permit-to-work, risk reporting, etc.
* Technical diploma (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic) + ≥5 years in PLC/SCADA development, Or Bachelor’s/Master’s in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred)
* PLC: proficient with TIA Portal (or equivalent)
* HMI/SCADA: expertise in WinCC or similar platforms
* Industrial communication protocols and networking
* Basic OT cybersecurity knowledge
* Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and software specs
* FAT/SAT experience and first-hand commissioning troubleshooting
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
* Willingness to travel internationally for commissioning assignments
