D-Orbit is seeking a Senior Robotic Systems Engineer to join our Robotics engineering team. This role involves leading system design, developing advanced controls, overseeing integration, and managing collaborations and subcontractors to innovate in challenging space environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead space robotic system design, from architecture to system-level engineering. Develop and implement advanced control algorithms for space conditions. Conduct analysis, modeling, and simulation for performance prediction and optimization in harsh environments. Oversee integration and testing of robotic hardware and software, ensuring space-grade compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, GNC). Manage international subcontractors, lead technical meetings, and track documentation. Define technical requirements, specifications, and verification plans for robotic systems. Participate in design reviews and problem-solving to foster continuous improvement. Stay updated with advancements in robotics, space technology, and AI. Requirements: Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. 7 years of experience in robotic systems design, development, and testing, especially for space applications. Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Python, Matlab, Simulink. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts. Professional proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with space-qualified hardware and software development (e.g., ECSS standards). Knowledge of vision systems and perception for space robotic manipulation. Experience with collaborative robotics and human-robot interaction. Experience with simulation tools like ROS, Gazebo, V-REP. Fluency in Italian.
