JOB TITLE: Director of Housing

\n

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Housing

\n

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:30pm)

LOCATION: Venice, CA

\n

STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Exempt

CELL PHONE: Reimbursement

DRIVER POSITION: Yes Please reference driving policy

SALARY RANGE: $95,000 Annually

Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is the leading service provider for youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in West Los Angeles. Founded in 2011, our agency offers trauma-informed, low barrier programs that support young people in exiting the streets and achieving stability so that they can thrive, not just survive. Our robust continuum of care includes street outreach, drop-in services, health and wellness programming, case management, education and employment services, and housing programs.

ABOUT THE ROLE A member of Safe Place for Youth’s Leadership Team, the Director of Housing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing holistic, client-centered, and innovative housing programs, including Host Home, Roots to Grow, A Bridge Home Sunset, and the Nest Family Housing programs. They will oversee all contractual outcomes and budgetary requirements, as well as monitor programming to ensure effective and equitable resources and services for TAY. They will provide leadership and direction aligned with SPY’s mission and core values.

\n

WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead and implement organizational policies and procedures; participate in organizational and departmental decision-making

\n

Develop, implement, and oversee all programming within the housing department, including site operations

\n

Monitor and create policies and procedures; update annually

\n

Oversee and ensure program compliance with all relevant standards and requirements, including input from contractors, partners, and funders

\n

Oversee and manage program budgets

\n

Implement equitable and effective methodologies for the management and oversight of housing contracts

\n

Strategically allocate resources and services to combat racial disparities in homelessness and cultivate strong partnerships with community providers

\n

Collaborate within the appropriate CES systems and LAHSA to ensure equitable and inclusive housing placements and maintain occupancy

\n

Develop program improvement strategies to ensure appropriate services and resources are implemented

\n

Evaluate programs strategically to establish measurable goals and outcomes; developing and implementing tools to track and evaluate youth data and outcomes; prepare reports to meet grant and internal requirements

\n

Develop partnerships that enhance and expand programs and increase impact in the community

\n

Collaborate interdepartmentally across SPY’s departments to integrate and align programmatic goals, strategies, and outcomes

\n

Oversee data collection, maintenance of youth files, and data tracking systems (e.g. HMIS and CiviCore)

\n

Increase and expand housing resources and services for youth

\n

Represent SPY at community, regional, and national conversations about youth homelessness and housing best practices

\n

Be consistently present on-site to provide direct oversight, support, and problem-solving for staff and youth

\n

Hire, train, and supervise team members; support professional development and ongoing training

\n

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization REQUIREMENTS

\n

WHAT YOU’LL NEED Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

\n

3+ years of relevant experience with TAY experiencing homelessness and/ or housing instability

\n

3+ years of professional experience in evaluation and project management, advocacy and coalition building, and managing/supervising

\n

Best practice models including: Housing First, Positive Youth Development, Authentic Youth Engagement, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, Critical Time Intervention

\n

Working knowledge of policies, systems, and
