About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead Volumio’s technology strategy and execution. This role is pivotal in driving the development of our audio ecosystem — including Volumio OS, CORRD app, and AI-based recommendation systems. The CTO will ensure our projects are delivered with efficiency, innovation, and a focus on measurable results.
Responsibilities
* Define and lead the overall technology strategy and roadmap for Volumio
* Oversee development of Volumio OS (embedded OS), CORRD mobile app, and AI recommendation systems
* Drive project management excellence, ensuring goal-oriented and timely delivery
* Lead and mentor engineering teams across embedded, mobile, and backend systems
* Foster collaboration between product, design, and engineering to create seamless user experiences
* Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of distributed systems
* Represent Volumio in technical discussions with partners, stakeholders, and the community
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a technology leader / CTO / Head of Engineering
* Strong track record in project management and delivering results
* Deep expertise in distributed systems
* Expertise in Audio domain applications (embedded audio players or apps)
* Proficiency in Go, JavaScript, Flutter, and mobile development
* Solid understanding and previous expertise on embedded systems and cross-platform development
* Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
* Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience in audio-related technologies
* Background in AI/ML systems, particularly for recommendation engines
* Familiarity with open-source development and active community collaboration
