How You'll Help Us Connect The World
As a Supplier Quality Engineer - II, you will be responsible for supplier quality management as part of the Global Supplier Quality Department for the EMEA region. You will work closely with Operations, Operations Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure good and consistent supplier performance, develop new suppliers, and ensure successful PDP & PTP projects.
This position will be a hybrid work schedule at our Agrate, Italy facility. Remote work will also be considered.
* Attend to issues in operations caused by Material Quality, analyze them with cross-functional teams, and implement solutions.
* Solve material quality issues timely and work with suppliers on sustainable improvements, using 8D methodology, revising Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Inspection Plans, and other control methods.
* Audit suppliers for their systems, processes, and products. Drive closure of audit non-conformances and ensure effectiveness through improved supplier performance.
* Collaborate with Procurement on new part development and supplier onboarding to ensure first-time right development through APQP and PPAP documentation.
* Ensure First Article Inspection is done correctly at the supplier end and in the company's Incoming Quality Control Lab, including understanding CMM inspection methods.
* Engage with cross-functional teams to execute tasks that drive results and improvements, understanding stakeholder issues, and making necessary decisions.
* Drive design for manufacturing reviews, part inspection standards, and ensure compliance with fit, finish, function, traceability, and packaging requirements.
* Work with engineering to facilitate drawing changes related to manufacturing and inspection feasibility.
* Execute run at rate and safe launch plans for new parts, conduct SPC and MSA studies, and ensure no infancy failures in production.
* Utilize SAP and analytics tools like Power BI and BO reports to monitor performance and derive insights.
* Lead quality improvement projects, including Six Sigma DMAIC, lean projects, and cost reduction initiatives.
* Identify cost improvement opportunities via VAVE and execute them with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
* Review supplier performance, prepare health reports, and communicate findings to management.
* Encourage suppliers to undertake Kaizens for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO9000, TL9000, IATF16949).
* Proficiency in quality tools like Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, DOE, Control Plans, 8D, Poka Yoke, and QC tools.
* Experience with system and process audits, GD&T, CMM, VMM, and other inspection methods.
* Knowledge of reliability, environmental, and qualification testing programs.
* Excellent communication skills in English, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with APQP, PPAP, and related processes.
* Desirable experience in sheet metal stamping, welding, galvanization, powder coating, die casting, CNC machining, electrical components, and RF products.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
* Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
* Experience in RF field applications.
