Operations Designer, International Operations Design TeamAmazon is seeking an experienced and business orientated Operations Designer who will own the delivery of innovative designs within a portfolio for the International Operations Design Team. The Operations Designer is responsible for the management of processes, information flow and acts as an SME in facilitating collaboration and portfolio alignment to deliver layouts on time and to a high quality.The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter and experienced in logistics and design, possessing a high work capacity & agility. They will be detail-oriented and data-driven with a talent for problem-solving and a positive can-do attitude. Knowledge of operations processes, design dependencies and execution for a construction and fit-out environment is critical. In this role, the individual will understand all aspects of planning, design and deployment of an Amazon Fulfillment Center and co-ordinate the composite design deliverables. The individual will ensure that customer needs for designs are met and drive year-on-year improvement in stakeholder collaboration and efficiency. The Operations Designer will support the Design Manager and Design Program Manager in planning, execution and tracking of the program, working within a cross-functional team to provide best in class designs and deliver turnkey ready projects from day 1.The role will be based in Mexico, with some travel expected for up to 40% of the time, depending on the project portfolio.Key job responsibilitiesManage and deliver composite designs, with no compromise on safety and the quality of customer experience. Bring scale to programs and establish opportunities to share value of initiatives with multiple teams.Foster a culture of collaboration and common objectives to ensure stakeholders are brought on the journey and customer solutions can be delivered with precision.Run efficient high-quality designs and processes ready for field execution. Ensure that designs are reviewed and accepted prior to enable approvals within SLA and meeting regulatory compliance. Protect overall quality, drive consistency and avoid compliance issues across the program.Contribute to cost reduction efforts, identify opportunities for cost savings/avoidance through clash detection, flow and process improvement, P&D allocations and other initiatives within the program.Own end-to-end design for projects assigned, support team members on design improvements. Demonstrate proactivity in solving design problems for the wider business.Act as a subject matter expert for Ops Design processes within and outside GES.Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams during design, execution and launch, and with technical partners to ensure timely elevation and resolution of potential risks and issues, influence design partners to resolve flaws and inconsistencies in the overall design ensuring that all sites within scope are consistently executed.Work with architectural, mechanical handling equipment and MEP models and provide detailed internal design packages drawings.Resolve specific design issues through the identification of requirements and development of ad-hoc supplementary detail, shared with stakeholders during design reviews.Support field engineers with composite layout designs to solve issues arising in the field, coaching others in interpreting design.Promote and work with the standard module layout library and lead continuous improvement and change management activities as a design authority for operations design.Comfortable in different roles and able to effectively communicate & work with subject matter experts in Safety, Construction, Engineering, Real Estate, Procurement etc.Basic QualificationsBachelor or Master Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field2+ years of experience in operations design for a logistics or relevant environment2+ years of experience interacting with cross-functional teams & subject-matter expertsProfessional working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks applicationsStrong verbal and written communication skills in both native and English languagesProfessional working knowledge using Microsoft Office Applications, MS Project etcFlexibility for business travelPreferred QualificationsWork space design and layout experienceExperience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environmentProficiency in additional European languagesExperience in process design/optimizationFrenchGermanPolishPortugueseArabicTurkishAfrikaansZuluPosted: March 4, 2026 (Updated 5 days ago)Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
