This is a full-time, on-site role based in Assago (MI) for an Operations Manager at UpSurgeOn, a MedTech company developing hybrid physical–digital simulation technologies for surgical education and psychomotor skill training. The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and quality of business processes and resource allocation across functions such as production, logistics, customer operations, and internal support teams.

The Operations Manager will manage cross-functional teams, coordinate workflows between headquarters, suppliers, and international partners, and ensure timely delivery of products and services to customers and scientific institutions worldwide. The Operations Manager will partner closely with the Leadership Team to translate strategic objectives into executable plans, spearhead continuous improvement and process automation initiatives, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with UpSurgeOn’s mission to make surgical excellence accessible on a global scale.

- Define, monitor, and report on KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, production throughput, service levels, quality metrics) to enable data-driven decisions.
- Develop and manage operational budgets and forecasts, monitor costs, and identify opportunities for optimization without compromising quality or customer experience.
- Coordinate logistics, warehousing, and inventory management for UpSurgeOn technologies and simulators, ensuring availability and timely delivery to global clients and partners.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, health and safety standards, data protection requirements, and applicable MedTech/healthcare quality and regulatory frameworks, in coordination with Quality and Regulatory teams.
- Manage and negotiate relationships with key suppliers, service providers, and external partners, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to align operations with product launches, commercial plans, and customer requirements.
- Lead or support strategic projects (e.g., process digitalization, new system implementations, expansion of production capacity, international distribution optimization).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications

- Operational Management and Organizational Skills: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in operations management, business operations, or similar roles, with responsibility for processes, resource planning, and performance improvement, ideally in a scale-up or SME environment.
- Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams; experience in setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and managing change.

- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) is a strong plus.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in MedTech, healthcare, medical devices, or high-tech manufacturing/education technology is considered a strong plus.
