Ph3Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d) /h3 pJoin to apply for the Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d) role at Goodyear. /p h3Primary Purpose /h3 pThe Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d) focuses on utilizing the right processes tools to effectively develop and maintain our compound line‑up portfolio for Passenger Radial and Light Truck Radial tire lines. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liTranslate product performance requirements into chemical and physical property requirements and develop tire compounds that demonstrate high performance. /li liOwn technical knowledge around Compound Development (crown and casing) and reinforce components. /li liExecute Compound Development projects across cross‑functional teams to deliver new technologies and capabilities supporting future Global Product and Technology development needs. /li liProvide support to Product Development teams for material benchmarking, compound choices, root cause analysis. /li liSupport tire plants during industrialization to deliver to global/regional business. /li /ul h3Technical Development /h3 ul liDevelop new compound formulations/tune existing ones and support Quality with industrialization along with EMEA Product Development roadmap for optimal performance. /li liFollow Global Technology GIR process, leverage modeling tools, execute lab studies, assist plant trials, prepare technical content, execute reviews. /li liInteract with functional expert groups. /li /ul h3Product Development /h3 ul liProvide compound/component recommendations during all product development phases. /li liAssist in troubleshooting/root cause analysis in materials area. /li liContribute to feasibility studies and DFMEA/PFMEA sessions. /li liSupport product industrialization and ramp up. /li liDrive support on product maintenance/claims. /li /ul h3Functional Plant Support /h3 ul liMaintain functional guidelines, share knowledge, stay up to date on external knowledge. /li liAssist plants and product development team during first compound industrialization, manage material testing, trial execution, documentation, release documentation. /li liPartner with operations for business continuity and plant support requests. /li /ul h3How (Leadership/Behavior) /h3 ul liTechnical proficiency, coaching on evolving technologies. /li liDecision making/problem solving, coach others. /li liCommunication, plan and lead multiregional meetings. /li liProject management, develop solutions to risks, drive new methods. /li /ul h3Education Certifications /h3 ul liBachelors or master’s in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Biology is required. /li liPhD in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Biology is desired. /li /ul h3Experience /h3 ul liStructure/property relationships in viscoelastic materials. /li liRubber compound analytical data interpretation. /li liTire plant experience in mixing/component preparation and tire production processes. /li liProficiency in statistical design and analysis of data. /li /ul h3Knowledge, Skills Abilities /h3 ul liPolymers, fillers, reinforced composites knowledge. /li liElastomeric formulations scale‑up experience. /li liMultidisciplinary team collaboration. /li liExceptional communication and technical documentation. /li liDynamic and collaborative spirit. /li liAbility to travel (10%) within Europe. /li liFluency in English. /li /ul pGoodyear is an equal employment opportunity employer.
