We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented freelance content writer fluent in Italian to write, translate and localize sports betting news articles for the Italian version of our website. Your main focus will be adapting published content from English, Portuguese, or French into Italian—ensuring journalistic quality, cultural relevance, and clarity are preserved for a local audience. To be more specific, you will:
* Translate and adapt published news articles from English, Portuguese, or French into Italian, with support from AI tools.
* Ensure accuracy in content, tone, and language, maintaining journalistic integrity and legal compliance in translated materials.
* Produce various betting content formats adapted to Italian readers and to local sports preferences : news stories, betting guides, reviews, listicles, and evergreen articles.
* Conduct thorough research on teams, players, trends, and markets to support accurate betting insights.
* Stay current on sports betting trends, markets, rules, and legal landscape (especially in regulated jurisdictions).
* Update and refresh existing content to reflect latest odds, stats, and promotions.
* Publish directly into the CMS, adhering to formatting and metadata standards.
* Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief to meet daily or weekly content publishing targets.
* Ensure all articles follow internal editorial guidelines, including tone, SEO, and layout.
* Flag content that may require legal, cultural, or regional review.
The ideal profile 💎
* Native-level Italian fluency and excellent written English skills.
* Proven experience as a content writer, translator, journalist, or editor, ideally in a sports or betting context.
* Strong grasp of journalistic tone, grammar, and storytelling.
* Familiarity with major U.S. and global sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, etc.).
* Comfortable using AI translation tools, with an ability to edit and refine output for publication quality.
