Overview
Danieli Group is a world-wide leader in the metal industry, specialized in the production of steel plants. The Danieli Team is multinational, multicultural and success driven. We are increasing our Instrumentation team within the Danieli Automation division.
Responsibilities
* Basic and Detail Design (drawings and/or technical specifications) of hardware schematics of electronic cards used by sensors/gauges produced by the Instrumentation and Robotics Business Unit (BU).
* Basic and Detail Design (code and/or technical specifications) of firmware deployed into electronic cards used within the sensors/gauges produced by the BU.
* Basic and Detail Design (code and/or technical specifications) of software deployed in both hardware and software PLCs.
* Development and testing of laboratory prototypes to verify theoretical hypotheses related to techniques for current/future gauges produced by the BU.
* Research, reading technical articles, books, datasheets, web pages, and publications to identify new technologies and/or techniques for metrology applications.
* Standardization, improvement, and innovation of existing/new solutions for the gauges produced by the BU.
* Manage time schedule, cost, and quality of the assigned jobs.
* Coordinate external partners (designers and/or suppliers) to achieve targets of quality, time, and cost.
* Link with project managers/leaders to gather information to design the optimal solution and share it with the BU team.
* Collaborate with team members to design the optimal mechanical/architectural solution.
Technical requirements
* Electronics (preferred) or other technical engineering degree.
* Preferred minimum 3 years experience in hardware and firmware development.
* Knowledge of electronic CAD software.
* Experience with microcontrollers and/or FPGA development suites.
* Experience with networks and Fieldbus protocols (Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT, Modbus, Modbus-TCP, RS232, …).
* Preferred programming language (in order of importance): C/C++/CodeSys/C#/VHDL.
* Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
