PFondazione Poliambulanza, is a non-profit hospital and IRCCS (Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare) located in Brescia, Italy. As part of the ongoing expansion of our Research Innovation team, we are seeking a Grant Officer to support our growing portfolio of clinical and translational research projects. /ppThis is a full-time position, reporting directly to the Scientific Director and the Head of the POLARIS Unit (POLiAmbulanza for Research, Innovation and Data Analysis). /ppJob Purpose /ppThe Grant Officer supports the planning, acquisition, and management of external funding for clinical and translational research. Working closely with researchers, clinicians, administrative staff, and external funders, the Grant Officer ensures that grant proposals are competitive and that funded projects comply with regulatory, ethical, and financial requirements. This role is relevant to advancing the institute’s mission of improving patient care through high-impact medical research. /ppKey Responsibilities /pp1. Pre-Award (Before Funding) /pulliIdentify funding opportunities from national and international agencies (e.g., Ministry of Health, Horizon Europe, NIH, private foundations) relevant to medical and clinical research. /liliAssist researchers and clinicians in the development of grant proposals, including drafting non-scientific sections, budget planning, and coordinating required documents (CVs, letters of support, ethical approvals). /liliEnsure proposals meet the eligibility criteria, technical requirements, and institutional priorities. /liliFacilitate internal review and submission through funder portals (e.g., IRCCS platform, ClinicalTrials.gov, EC Participant Portal). /liliProvide guidance on ethical and regulatory documentation, including ethics committee submissions, clinical trial authorizations, and GDPR compliance. /li /ulp2. Post-Award (After Funding) /pulliSupport contract negotiation and agreement finalization with sponsors, funders, and collaborators. /liliMonitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, in coordination with clinical research teams and finance offices. /liliOversee the administrative and financial reporting to funding bodies and support the submission of progress reports. /liliEnsure compliance with institutional and funder policies on clinical research governance, patient data, and audit requirements. /liliAct as a liaison with auditors and funding agencies during project evaluations or financial audits. /li /ulp3. Institutional Strategic Support and Communication /pulliContribute to the institute’s reporting obligations to the Ministry of Health and national health research agencies (e.g., IRCCS evaluations). /liliRepresent the institute at national and international research networks, consortia, and IRCCS research working groups. /liliFoster collaborations with hospitals, universities, CROs, and industry partners. /li /ulpRequired Qualifications and Skills /pulliBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., biotechnology sciences, management engineering, health economics, administration). /liliExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language. /liliKnowledge of clinical research processes, including ethical approval, clinical trial registration, data protection, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). /liliStrong project management, budgeting, and organizational skills. /liliStrong skills in data management and reporting /liliAbility to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. /li /ulpPreferred Qualifications / Desirable Skills /pulliExperience in grant management, preferably in clinical or medical research settings. /liliKnowledge of national and international health research funding programs (e.g., Horizon Europe, AIFA, Ministry of Health, NIH). /liliExperience in (clinical-medical) scientific research. /li /ulpAt Fondazione Poliambulanza, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking, mission-driven institution that values innovation and scientific excellence.
