Your Contribution to Prysmian's Success
We are looking for an Engineer to join the Diagnostic and Site Testing section of the Installation Engineering Department in Milan HQ. The position involves the engineering and execution of technical tasks relevant to the design of cable testing onshore and offshore, including the preparation of all relevant technical documentation such as procedures, drawings, and specifications to define the work of subcontractors. It also includes site activities for localization of faults in case of cable malfunctions and the execution of electrical tests during or at the end of a cable installation, along with the preparation of all relevant technical reports.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and execution of electrical tests during cable installation and at commissioning stage.
* Design and execution of fault location activities on power cables.
* Collaborate with other departments such as Purchasing, System Design, and Project Management.
* Work frequently on site for moderate periods during testing or fault location activities.
* Interface directly with Prysmian clients and subcontractors on technical matters.
* Provide support and input during the tender stage to proposal engineers and during execution to colleagues from different departments working on site.
Qualification Requirements
* Fluent in English.
* A master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Preferably one year of previous work experience within an offshore or technical environment, or a strong interest in the sector.
* Availability to travel frequently for moderate periods of time and on short notice.
* Genuine interest in technical matters, curiosity, and a hands‐on approach.
* Good communication skills and a relationship‐oriented approach with clients.
* Capability to work in teams.
* Problem‐solving skills, target orientation, pragmatism, and the ability to manage priorities in coordination with management.
