Teaching and learning are delivered in English, and students are prepared for progression into IGCSE and IBDP pathways within the St. Louis School group. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and the British educational framework.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills through structured and differentiated teaching.
- Foster a love of literature, language and critical thinking.
- Create a positive, inclusive and academically ambitious classroom environment.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress to ensure high standards of attainment.
- Prepare students effectively for progression into IGCSE pathways.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, departmental development and sharing of best practice.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and contribute to pastoral care.
- Engage positively with parents and the wider school community.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times **THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**: - Bachelor’s Degree in English or a closely related field.
- PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at secondary or upper primary level.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Native-level or near-native proficiency in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- A collaborative, student-centred and reflective approach to teaching.
- Experience within the British curriculum (desirable).
- Experience in an international or multilingual school setting (desirable).
- Familiarity with IGCSE preparation (desirable).
- Italian language skills are advantageous but not essential. **Requirements**: - Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification preferred.
- An EU passport or valid visa to work in Italy would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the British curriculum is preferred.-
