**_ Strategic Sourcing Manager_**
- based in Milano, Italy_
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing a product/ service or a product/service group within the Purchasing function, taking into account factors as price, quality, volume and strategic aspects while using market data with the goal of contributing a maximum value to the company.
He/she conducts regional projects using the strategic sourcing process to develop, advocate and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for defined spend areas to achieve short and long term saving targets.
**Key responsibilities for this role are**:
- Developing and executing sourcing strategies for spend that will drive measurable improvements in the areas of customer satisfaction, compliance and cost benefits.
- Leading the development, implementation and alignment of regional sourcing strategies and regional supplier network capabilities for defined commodities and spend categories to achieve business objectives.
- Ensuring definition of procurement strategies and goals aimed at supporting achievement of organization goals and in alignment with EMEAI / global category management where applicable.
- Ensuring identification of continuous improvement and opportunities, in compliance with organization development goals, through accurate risk assessments and knowledge of the market supply-demand balance.
- Negotiating contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply and managing contractor service to ensure each of the vendors/contractors meet the required qualifications, SLA's, KPIs and provide quality service at low cost.
- Maintaining proper relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Economics or business Administration
- 5 years work experience, ideally in an industrial setting, chemical industry preferred
- Excellent fluency in Italian and in English
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and SAP
- Good knowledge of Procure to Source process
- Negotiation and analytical skills, problem solving mindset, priority setting and project management capabilities.
The person in this role is expected to travel overnight at plant sites and/or at contractor sites to get 10% of work complete
