About the School
From July 2025, the Keynes Institute is a Cambridge International School in Southern Italy offering Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary programmes.
The school delivers the Cambridge International Curriculum, with British curriculum subjects taught entirely in English. This is not an English language teaching role.
The Role
We are seeking a qualified Primary Teacher with QTS to teach all Cambridge Primary subjects across two Year 1 classes.
As in the UK primary system, the teacher is responsible for delivering a broad, cross-curricular programme rather than a single subject.
The role involves close collaboration and co-teaching with Italian teachers, in line with Italian paritaria school regulations, and reports directly to the Academic Coordinator.

Wellbeing, Global Perspectives, Art and Design, Science, Physical Education, Music, Mathematics, English, English as a Second Language, Humanities.
Teaching Load
17 weekly teaching hours per class

Total: 34 weekly teaching hours
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (MA or MSc preferred)
PGCE Primary (Postgraduate Certificate in Education – Primary) with QTS
Strong pedagogical and methodological training
Experience with EAL and SEN pupils
High level of professional English
Willingness to relocate to Italy
Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of empathy, particularly in working with children and within a collaborative teaching environment
High level of precision and reliability in completing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines, with clear and timely reporting to the Academic Coordinator
Positive attitude towards international collaboration and intercultural exchange
Desirable Requirements
Previous experience in Cambridge International Schools or within the UK education system
Italian Speaking
Professional Development
In March, the successful candidate will complete Cambridge syllabus-specific online training, fully funded by the school.
In June, the teacher will take part in a structured curriculum alignment process with Italian colleagues under academic supervision.
