Overview
For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Legal Specialist to join our Legal Department. You will report directly to the GC&C General Counsel, supporting the management and mitigation of legal and regulatory risks, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and Generali Group Policies and procedures. This role involves coordinating with local legal teams, assisting with strategic initiatives, and maintaining effective communication channels to ensure seamless legal support across the organization.
Responsibilities
* Legal Advisory: Provide legal advice and consultancy services to GC&C on a wide range of matters, including insurance, reinsurance and retrocession agreements, IT contracts, outsourcing agreements and other related areas, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
* Collaborate with local legal teams involved in providing support to GC&C at local level
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external advisors and notaries for corporate filings and other formalities
* Legal and Regulatory Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential legal and regulatory risks that could impact GC&C operations; provide practical advice on managing and mitigating such risks on a day-by-day basis
* Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory developments, with a specific focus on insurance and reinsurance matters
* Facilitate training and development programs to enhance the legal knowledge of the GC&C population
* Contract Management: Draft, review and negotiate complex contracts in both Italian and English, including, but not limited to: NDA, P&S, ToU, Sponsorship Agreements, MSA, SOW, reinsurance and retrocession agreements
* Contribute to the development, updating and standardization of legal documents, contracts, guidelines and best practices
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Law and licensed to practice law in Italy or another EU jurisdiction
* Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in large structured law firms, preferably in insurance, litigation, or corporate legal practice, or in-house within the insurance or financial services industry
* Excellent proficiency in English (both written and spoken) with a preference for candidates who are also fluent in at least one other language
* Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills, with a strong team-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to innovation and simplification
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal technology tools and platforms
* Experience with legal prompting and innovative legal technologies is considered a plus
