Your role
We are seeking a motivated R&D Hardware Engineer with a strong background on PCB design and mechanical instrumentation assembly.
You will work on conceptualization, design, and prototype of next-generation electronic systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (optics, firmware, mechanical).
Your responsibilities, more in details:
1. PCB Schematic & Layout : Develop multi-layer PCB schematics and layouts using industry-standard CAD tools
2. Electronic/Optoelectronic Instrumentation Mechanical Assembly Design: Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design mounting, housing, and alignment solutions for electronic and optical subsystems
3. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) : Ensure designs meet DFM guidelines and assembly cost-optimization
4. Prototyping & Validation : Build and test prototypes in the lab; execute design verification and release hardware packages. Analyze failures, iterate on hardware revisions, and provide detailed test reports.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work alongside firmware, mechanical (MCAD), and systems engineering to ensure mechanical fit, thermal management, and seamless integration.
Your experiences
6. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
7. Proficiency in PCB CAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer )
8. Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and electronic assembly
9. Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles
10. Familiarity with DFM/DFT best practices for mid-volume production
11. Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
12. Experience with MCAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo or Autodesk Inventor) for enclosure/interface verification
13. Background in optoelectronics, including laser safety and fiber-optic assembly procedures
14. Experience working with contract electronic manufacturers and turnkey assembly houses
