Overview Permitting Specialist – Primary & Secondary Permitting Sector: Renewable Energy (Wind, Solar PV, BESS) | Location: Rome Role Objective: To lead and coordinate the acquisition of all primary and secondary permits required for the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects (solar PV, wind, and storage systems) in Italy. Ensure full compliance with national, regional, and municipal regulations, including urban planning, environmental, and energy sector standards. Key Responsibilities Primary Permitting – Manage the full permitting process for Autorizzazione Unica (AU) as a priority permitting pathway, including: Simplified Authorization Procedure (DIA) Declaration of Start of Activity (CPI) – depending on project type and size Prepare and submit documentation for Environmental Impact Assessments (VIA) Environmental screening / VIncA Construction permits Grid connection authorization (TICA) Liaise with national, regional, and local authorities: Municipalities, Regions, Provinces, ARPA, Soprintendenza, GSE, Enel / TERNA, etc. Secondary Permitting – Manage all post-AU permits required for construction: Site access and road works Easements and agricultural land conversion Civil works licenses, grid infrastructure approvals Coordinate construction-related filings: SCIA, CILA, building notices, etc. Support the construction team in managing permit amendments ("varianti in corso d’opera") Ensure compliance during site works Collaboration: Work with EIA team & Project Managers for project timelines and feasibility; Engineering team for alignment on technical plans; Legal & Regulatory for interpreting laws and filings; Community & Stakeholder Relations for local acceptance and outreach Requirements Education : Degree in Electrical Engineering Experience : 3–5 years in renewable energy permitting in Italy (solar, wind, or BESS); strong knowledge of Italian permitting frameworks: AU, VIA, TICA, PAS, urban and energy law Skills : Understanding of national and regional permitting procedures; Familiar with Italian environmental and urban planning codes; Experienced in coordinating with public authorities and technical consultants Languages : Native; Italian Proficient; English for internal communication and reporting Key Soft Skills Strong organizational and time management Proactive and solution-oriented mindset Excellent communication and negotiation abilities Attention to regulatory and documentation detail What We Offer Competitive salary and bonus structure Career development in a fast-growing international renewable energy company Opportunity to work on large-scale, multi-technology projects across Italy J-18808-Ljbffr
